Alerts & Integrations

Get notified where you work. Search Sentinel integrates with Email, Slack, and Microsoft Teams to keep you in the loop.

Email Alerts

Email alerts are the simplest way to get started. You can add multiple email recipients for any URL or project.

Adding Recipients

In Alert Settings, simply type an email address and hit Enter or click "Add". The system will immediately start sending alerts to that address. Verification is not required for added team members.

Slack Integration

  1. Create a Webhook

Go to Slack Apps, create a new app, and enable "Incoming Webhooks".

  2. Copy the Webhook URL

    It will look like https://hooks.slack.com/services/T000/B000/XXXX.

  3. Paste in Search Sentinel

Go to Alert Settings, enable "Slack Alerts", and paste your URL. Changes are saved automatically.

Microsoft Teams Integration

You can receive alerts in MS Teams using an "Incoming Webhook" connector or a Power Automate flow.

Option 1: Incoming Webhook Connector

1. In Teams, go to your channel, click ... → Connectors.

2. Search for "Incoming Webhook", add it, and give it a name.

3. Copy the URL and paste it into Search Sentinel's Project Settings → Bulk Intervals & Alerts.

Option 2: Power Automate (Workflows)

If the connector is deprecated in your organization, create a "Post to a channel when a webhook request is received" workflow in Teams and use that URL.

Alert Throttling

Avoiding Alert Fatigue

If a monitored page is flapping (constantly changing between states), you don't want 100 emails an hour. Use the "Minimum Interval" setting.

Recommendation

We recommend setting a minimum interval of at least 60 minutes for most production sites.
